Tiger Woods faces an uphill battle
Tiger he sits tied for 16th after Saturday’s round at the 2023 Hero World Challenge, trailing leader Scottie Scheffler by 16 strokes. Despite a rough start, Woods showcased improvement in the next rounds, posting an even-par score tied with Viktor Hovland.
Going into the final round, Woods contends with a strong field, including world No. 1 Scheffler, Open Championship winner Brian Harman, and Ryder Cup golfers Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas.
BetMGM places Woods’ odds of winning at 66-1, while Scheffler leads as the favorite with -400 odds. Woods demonstrated skill with four birdies in the opening round but struggled with bogeys and a double bogey, finishing the day at three over par.
The following day showed improvement as Woods carded a smooth 70 with consecutive birdies and a more consistent performance. Despite the odds and the challenging competition, Woods’ fans are hopeful for a strong finish in the final round.
