Jon Rahm sent clear PGA Tour message after LIV Golf u-turn rumours dismissed

Jon Rahm was beaten in a playoff by Brooks Koepka at the LIV Golf Greenbrier on Sunday as the Spaniard came up short in his bid to win a second straight LIV tournament

Jon Rahm was told by a spectator at LIV Golf Greenbrier on Sunday that he is missed by the PGA Tour. The crowd call comes just days after reports suggested he was keen to return to the American-based circuit.

Rahm narrowly missed out on securing his second consecutive LIV title on Sunday, losing in a playoff to Brooks Koepka after an tense final round in West Virginia. During his final round, while chasing down his rival and preparing for a birdie putt at the par-four 14th to move to 18-under for the week, a voice from the crowd was heard saying: “The Tour misses you, Rahm, the Tour misses you,” just as his effort slightly missed on the low side.

Rahm, the former world No. 1, became one of LIV’s most significant signings at the end of 2023 when he signed a record-breaking deal reportedly worth £450 million to join the Saudi-backed circuit.

However, nine months later, Golf Digest reported that Rahm would willingly give back his millions to return to the PGA Tour. “I am 100 percent positive that if Jon could give the money back to the Saudis and come back to the tour, he couldn’t write the check fast enough,” an unnamed source claimed.

Rahm had previously expressed his hope for a deal between the two rival circuits that would allow him to play across both tours. “What opened the door a little bit was that PGA Tour and LIV agreement,” Rahm confessed per Golf.com earlier this year. “So when that happened, I was like, well, we are definitely coming together
