“I suggest you shut the f**k up”: Ian Poulter threatens a fan to throw him out during LIV Golf’s Houston tournament

Ian Poulter let his anger get the better of him during the most recent LIV Golf stop in Houston. Poulter had an exchange of words with a fan that ended with the player threatening to have him removed from the course.

The moment was captured on video and posted on the X (formerly Twitter) account Drunk By The Turn, which covers world golf. Although you can’t hear what the spectator said to Ian Poulter, the player’s response is clear.

“Shut the fk up… shut the fk up… I suggest you shut the f**k up,” Poulter said.

Ian Poulter also reportedly warned the fan that he could have him removed from the course, something the Englishman had already done at least once before.

As reported by Golf.com, Poulter had security remove a spectator from the 2019 World Golf Championship St. Jude Invitational in Memphis for yelling at him after he executed a shot.

Ian Poulter’s response generated mixed reactions among X users. Several supported the player, saying that fans sometimes go too far, while others were of the opposite opinion.

“Embarrassing from Poulter. If he was part of a legitimate tour then he’d be rightly disciplined,” one fan posted.

“Not enough athletes give it back to the fans. And they should. Fans think they have carte blanche to say whatever they want without any repercussion,” another fan wrote.
