LIV Golf Stars Shine at 2025 PGA Championship: DeChambeau, Rahm, and Niemann Impress
The 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow may have ended with Scottie Scheffler hoisting the Wanamaker Trophy, but several LIV Golf players made headlines of their own with standout performances in one of golf’s biggest events.
DeChambeau Keeps Up the Major Momentum
Bryson DeChambeau once again proved he’s a major contender, finishing tied for second at 6-under-par. It’s his third straight top-four finish at the PGA Championship and another top-six in a U.S.-based major. Though he came up short of victory, DeChambeau was proud of how he played throughout the week, calling it another step in the right direction.
Rahm Rallies, Then Falters Late
Jon Rahm looked poised to challenge Scheffler down the stretch and even shared the lead at one point. But the final holes at Quail Hollow—nicknamed “The Green Mile”—got the better of him. Rahm bogeyed 16, then doubled 17 and 18, sliding into a tie for eighth at 4-under. Despite the finish, his aggressive play kept him in the mix for much of the tournament.
Breakthrough for Niemann
Joaquín Niemann notched the best major result of his career with a share of eighth place. A strong final-round 68 helped him break into the top 10 of a major for the first time. It was a big moment for the young Chilean, who’s been steadily climbing the ranks since joining LIV.
