Rory McIlroy Barely Advances to Weekend at 2025 PGA Championship

Rory McIlroy, a former world No. 1 and four-time major winner, just managed to qualify for the weekend rounds at the 2025 PGA Championship, finishing right on the cut line.

Competing at Valhalla Golf Club, McIlroy wrapped up the first two rounds with a total score of even par. Though he delivered some impressive shots, inconsistency in his approach play and putting made his path uncertain, especially during Friday’s round.

As the projected cut hovered around even par, McIlroy needed to stay steady under pressure. He managed to do just enough over the closing holes to remain in the tournament. While he’s well off the leaders, advancing to the final rounds gives him a chance to improve his position.

This latest performance continues McIlroy’s ongoing battle to capture his first major title in over a decade. Despite the slow start, he’s still in the game and could turn Ithings around with a strong showing over the weekend.
