Justin Rose, the seasoned English golfer and former U.S. Open champion, was forced to withdraw from the Truist Championship on Saturday due to illness, disappointing fans and organizers who were looking forward to his performance.

Rose had been competing in the tournament despite reportedly feeling unwell in the days leading up to the weekend. However, as his condition worsened, he made the difficult decision to step away from the event.

In a statement released on Saturday, Rose shared, “I’ve become progressively ill over the past few days, and unfortunately, I’m just not in a position to continue. I was hoping to push through, but my health has to come first.”

The 43-year-old veteran has long been admired for his resilience and professionalism on the PGA Tour. Known for his steady game and calm demeanor under pressure, Rose’s absence is being felt not only by spectators but also by fellow competitors who respect his presence on the course.

Tournament officials wished him a speedy recovery, noting that his health and well-being are the priority. “Justin is a class act, and we’re certainly disappointed he won’t be finishing the weekend with us,” a spokesperson for the Truist Championship said. “We hope to see him back to full strength soon.”

Rose’s team has not provided details about the specific nature of his illness, but sources close to the golfer indicate that he is resting and receiving appropriate care.

As fans send well wishes to the Englishman, the hope is that he’ll make a quick and full recovery in time for upcoming events on the tour.
