The upcoming LIV Golf event in Chicago is not only the second-to-last event of the Saudi-backed tour but also the event where the tour will crown its 2024 Individual Champion. This year, however, the title race has narrowed down to just two players- Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann.
Ahead of LIV Golf Chicago, the official handle of the Saudi-backed tour uploaded a video featuring Tyrrell Hatton and other golfers predicting the Individual Championship winner. Eventually, there was a tie as Rahm and Niemann received an equal number of votes.
The reason Rahm and Joaquin Niemann are favorites to win is because of their current positions in the standings. Rahm is in the lead with 195.17 points, while Niemann follows closely with 192.20 points.The two golfers don’t have too much competition as Tyrrell Hatton, who is in third position, has only 143.49 points to his credit. As such, LIV Golf Chicago will be an extremely important event for Rahm and Niemann.The winner of this year’s Individual Championship will receive an Individual Champion Ring, which was recently unveiled by LIV Golf. This unique ring will feature a hidden ball marker and a QR code linking to the winning moment.
The upcoming LIV Golf Chicago will have a purse of $25 million out of which $20 million will be distributed to the players. The remaining $5 million will go to the top three teams. Meanwhile, the golfer who finishes first will earn $4,000,000
