Joaquin Niemann recently expressed his disappointment at not being picked for the 2024 Presidents Cup. He said that teams were supposed to pick the best golfers, which they weren’t doing at the moment.
Joaquin Niemann has had a great season and won two titles on the LIV Golf circuit. He is currently second in the season standings, but all these achievements weren’t enough to get him on the International team squad for the Presidents Cup. For the uninitiated, LIV-associated professionals were not considered for the biennial event.
On Tuesday, September 10, Niemann said that it sucked, and he would love to be part of the International team.
“It’s supposed to be the best golfers around the world & they’re not doing that right now,” he said as per Bunkered. “I do believe we (the Internationals) have a strong team, but it could be an even stronger team. I’d love to see the Americans lose,” he added.
The International team led by Mike Weir will feature Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, Tom Kim, Jason Day, and Byeong Hun An as the automatic picks. Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Si Woo Kim, Min Woo Lee, and Taylor Pendrith are the six names picked by the captain.
