The 2024 PGA Tour season concluded with its finale at the Tour Championship. This season was marked by some players exceeding expectations and performing exceptionally well. Most surprising was Scottie Scheffler, who won seven tournaments, becoming the first golfer since Tiger Woods in 2007 to achieve this feat.

Xander Schauffele also made headlines in 2024 by winning two Majors. However, while some players shone brightly this year, others struggled and performed below expectations. Players including Tom Kim, Rickie Fowler, and others did not meet the expectations and underperformed.

Here are five PGA Tour players who underperformed in 2024:

1 Tom Kim

Tom Kim raised fans’ expectations after his phenomenal season on the PGA Tour last year. He won two tournaments and recorded nine finishes in the top 10, along with one runner-up finish in the 2022-23 season. However, after such a successful season, he unfortunately did not meet expectations in 2024 and underperformed.

Kim did not win any events, recorded only one runner-up finish, and had just two top-10 finishes. His ranking in the FedEx Cup standings was also disappointing, settling at 51st position.

2 Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth was a runner-up in one tournament and had seven top-10 finishes in the 2022-23 PGA Tour season, but in 2024, he could only manage three top-10 finishes. Spieth had a rough outing and missed seven cuts in 2024. Additionally, his FedEx Cup ranking was below expectations, finishing 67th.

3 Max Homa

Coming off his incredible two wins on the PGA Tour in the 2022-23 season, fans hoped Max Homa would have another season filled with victories and strong finishes. However, the American struggled throughout the season, recording only three top-10 finishes. He also missed three cuts and finished 46th in the FedEx Cup standings.

However, in 2024, he failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs, finishing 108th in the FedEx Cup standings. Fowler did not have any top-10 finishes this year and missed the cut in six tournaments.

5 Brian Harman

Brian Harman won the 2023 Open Championship, exceeding fans’ hopes. He also recorded three runner-up finishes last season. However, the American golfer has had only one runner-up finish and three top-10 finishes in 2024.

The former Major winner competed in 22 PGA Tour events in 2024 and made the cut in 20 of them. He missed only two cuts and finished in 31st position in the FedEx Cup standings.
