Shane Lowry left shocked as presenter Ali McCann tells him she has never heard of Oasis.
It might have been the biggest UK celebrity news story of 2024 so far but not everyone has heard of Oasis, especially those in the United States… much to the surprise of PGA Tour star Shane Lowry.
Noel and Liam Gallagher confirmed the rock band’s reunion on Tuesday following weeks of speculation.
Oasis’ 2025 UK Tour comes 15 years after Noel decided to quit the band following a reported fallout with his brother.
Speaking to FanDuel presenter Ali McCann ahead of this week’s FedEx Cup finale at the Tour Championship, Ireland’s Lowry was asked which celebrity he would most like to grab a drink with in the future.

“Oh, I’d love to have a drink with Oasis,” said Lowry. “You know Oasis are back together?”
A perplexed McCann responded: “I don’t even know…”
“You don’t know who Oasis are?” said a shocked Lowry.
“Oh my god… you’re obviously way younger than me.
“This is like the biggest news ever. You need to look them up.”
McCann covered her face and laughed: “I’m so sorry, I’ll do that immediately after this.”
Lowry, still stunned, said: “She doesn’t know Oasis, blasphemy.”
McCann said: “No, no, I’m sorry. I just ruined this whole interview. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s going to make it good though,” said Lowry.

Lowry is teeing it up in the 30-man Tour Championship for the first time in his career at East Lake this week.
The 2019 Open champion starts the tournament seven shots behind leader Scottie Scheffler in the staggered scoring start.
The winner of the tournament wins the FedEx Cup and a record PGA Tour prize of $25m.
