Dustin Johnson Comes Up With Solution To overcome LIV Golf issue as relegation looms

Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces could lose up to half of their roster to relegation at the end of the 2024 LIV Golf season and the team are already in talks with other franchises over player transfers

Dustin Johnson and his 4Aces team appear to have a recruitment strategy in place, with the future of their roster uncertain with just two events left to play in the 2024 LIV Golf season

One of the two is the breakaway league’s annual Team Championship, where all 12 teams on the circuit compete against each other in a matchplay format over three days in Dallas. Prior to this though, Johnson’s team will be concentrating on the final regular season event in Chicago.

The tournament at Bolingbrook Golf Club will crown LIV’s 2024 individual champion, with current leader Jon Rahm ahead at the top, with Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann the man just behind in second.

At the opposite end of the year-long standings, the league’s relegation process will also be confirmed, with four players set to lose their rights on the playing list. At present, seven players are below the drop zone line, but three of those are immune from the dumping

Bubba Watson is one of those exempt due to his captaincy contract with the RangeGoats. In addition, Anthony Kim and Hudson Swafford will also avoid the four dreaded spots despite not earning a point between them this season due to be the league’s two wildcard members.

Currently on the brink of relegation is Kalle Samooja of the Cleeks, Branden Grace of Stinger GC, and the Vincent brothers, Scott and Kieran, playing for Iron Heads and Legion XIII respectively. Two of Johnson’s 4Aces teammates, Pat Perez and Harold Varner III, are also under threat.
