English golf legend Sir Nick Faldo makes Donald Trump admission after shock government claim.
Sir Nick Faldo has taken to X / Twitter to hit back at Donald Trump’s claims that he could be in his government if he is re-elected in November.
Ex-POTUS Trump, 78, piled praise on English golf legend Faldo during his latest rally in Montana earlier this week.
Six-time major champion Faldo, 67, attended Trump’s rally alongside his fourth wife Lindsay De Marco, 61, a former topless dancer who is an ardent Republican supporter and die-hard MAGA fan.
During Trump’s speech, he labelled Faldo as a ‘major friend of mine’ and Lindsay as ‘his beautiful wife’.
He then floated the idea that Faldo could come and join his government should he get re-elected later in three months’ time.

Trump: And one of our greatest golfers in the history of. I’m a golfer, I love golf. This guy is a major golfer. He’s a major friend of mine, one of the best ever. They knighted him in in England or in UK. I’d like to bring him into government. Nick Faldo. pic.twitter.com/A9BtAk1cKu

“I’m a golfer, I love golf… this guy is a major golfer,” Trump said of Faldo as he addressed his adoring Republican fans.
“He is a major friend of mine. One of the best ever.
“They knighted him in England or the UK. And he just knew how to win.
“He could take people, he’d play the best players in the world, and they always folded in front of him.
“In fact, I think I need to bring him into government ’cause we like to get other people to fold.
“And his nickname is Foldo because he makes everyone but his name is Faldo.
“Nick Faldo and his beautiful wife, Lindsay. Where is Nick?”

A red-faced Faldo was then picked out in the crowd and he raised his hands aloft with his wife Lindsay.
After the somewhat bizarre comment for Faldo to come join his government, the former World No.1 took to X / Twitter to hit back at such a claim.
Faldo wanted it to be known that he has ‘zero interest in and no intention of taking a political position’.
The six-time major champion admits he has only built a relationship with Trump through their work in the golf industry, particularly their work in golf course design.

Faldo’s message read as follows:
‘To all those overly concerned.
‘Before I head out the door this morning into the great outdoors of Montana to cast a fly in the river, I will make a short and sweet statement about Former President Donald Trump’s tongue-in-cheek compliment of my competitive fortitude.
‘For those who took his comments seriously, I must say, that I am amused that I need to clarify and announce that I have zero interest in and no intention of taking a political position.
‘Donald & I have known each other for nearly 20 years through the great game of golf. My interests in the business world revolve around my golf course design company, Faldo Design, and growing the game of golf globally, as I have for over 29 years through my non profit junior golf program, The Faldo Series.
