Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton reveal mixed feelings about first year at LIV Golf

Jon Rahm describes his first year at LIV Golf filled with ‘a lot of question marks,’ Tyrrell Hatton calls it ‘a learning experience’

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton joined LIV Golf ahead of the beginning of its third season. As the season nears its conclusion, the Legion XIII team members have opened up about their journey on the circuit.

Rahm finally won his first event on the Saudi circuit at the recently concluded LIV Golf UK event, while Hatton won the Nashville event last month. Both have a good start on the circuit, winning tournaments in their debut season.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton recently played at LIV Golf UK, finishing as the winner and runner-up, respectively. They had a strong outing last week, and during the tournament’s press conference, they shared their opinions on playing in the series.

Speaking of his experience, Jon Rahm mentioned that there were “a lot of question marks” when he started this journey on the circuit but that he was “extremely satisfied” with the overall experience and how things developed over time.

Speaking of his LIV Golf experience, Rahm said (via LIV Golf on YouTube at 17:40):

“There was a lot of question marks when we started the year, but I have to say I’m extremely satisfied with how things have gone. Had I won today or not, we have a great team, great group of people together, not only us by everybody around the team that makes it so much fun. We started the first week with a win and then followed it with three more, and two of us here have won individual titles,” Rahm said.

“I really don’t think there’s going to be much to be negative about. It’s been in my experience a fantastic experience. It’s been a wonderful year. It’s been a lot of fun. Just looking forward to hopefully finishing the year with more wins and really ending it with a bang,” he added.

Rahm’s fellow team member Tyrrell Hatton also spoke about his experience, describing it as a “learning experience.” He called it a “fun year” and was happy to play around the world. Hatton also spoke about his maiden victory at the Nashville event last month.

“Well, I think the easiest thing to say because this year was always going to be a learning experience. Going into something completely new for us. Obviously we knew exactly what it was like on the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour and things,” Hatton said (18:30)

“I think it’s been a fun year. We’ve been fortunate to go to some pretty cool places around the world and play some nice golf courses and enjoy cool moments as a team. Then as an individual, for me to win in Nashville last month was a huge relief just to win again as a professional because it had been such a long time,” he added.
