Professional golfer Nelly Korda has withdrawn from the latest LPGA tournament following an unexpected injury—a dog bite. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, has forced the world-class athlete to take a step back from her competitive schedule to focus on recovery.

Korda, currently ranked among the top players in women’s golf, was set to compete in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. However, the bite has left her unable to perform at her peak, prompting her decision to prioritize her health.

The accident happened at her home, where Korda was playing with her family dog. Although details about the severity of the bite have not been fully disclosed, Korda’s team has assured fans that she is receiving the necessary medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.

In a statement released through her social media channels, Korda expressed her disappointment about missing the tournament but emphasized the importance of taking the time to heal properly. “I’m gutted to miss out on this week’s event, but unfortunately, I’ve had an incident with my dog and need to focus on getting better,” she wrote. “I appreciate all the support and understanding from my fans, and I look forward to returning to the course soon.”
