“Let’s settle this” – Bryson DeChambeau offers to host the golf match between Donald Trump and Joe Biden as they discuss golf handicaps amid debate
Bryson DeChambeau has offered to host a golf match between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The first presidential debate on Friday, June 27 saw Donald Trump and Joe Biden discussing their golf handicaps.
The LIV Golfer DeChambeau took to X and wrote:
“Let’s settle this whole handicap debate, I’ll host the golf match on my YouTube @realDonaldTrump @JoeBiden.”
DeChambeau has a YouTube channel with 789k followers. His following has significantly increased after he won the third Major of the season, the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst.
In the first presidential debate, Donald Trump talked about his own game while taking a shot at Biden. Trump said (via 11alive):
“I just won two club championships, not even senior. Two regular club championships. To do that, you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. And I do it. He couldn’t do it, he can’t even hit a ball 50 yards.”
Biden responded by saying that he’d be happy to have a driving contest with Trump. He said (via NUCLRGOLF):
“Look, I’d be happy to have a driving contest with him. I got my handicap, which when I was vice president, down to a six. And by the way, I told you before, I’m happy to play golf if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?”
