Tiger Woods’ first round at the 2024 US Open is in the bag and it was a mixed day for the former world number one.
However, Woods soon fell away as a disastrous run of five bogeys in seven holes ensured he was well down the pecking order and up against it heading into day two tomorrow.
As we all know, Woods has struggled all year long with injuries but there appeared to be something different about him this time, especially on those opening nine holes.

Tiger’s driving from the tee was near impeccable and his short game and putting looked on point, with just some wayward irons costing him.

But aside from his golf game, he also looked stronger in terms of the physical aspects of the round.
And that much was proven after the round as well, as Woods found more time in his day to go and practice on the range afterwards.
