Clarification on Adrian Meronk’s playing status emerges as he prepares for his transition to LIV Golf.

Adrian Meronk is poised to join LIV Golf for the 2024 season, marking his transition from the PGA Tour. However, the Polish star’s impact won’t be confined solely to the breakaway league.

According to The Times, Meronk has finalized his transition to the LIV setup before the breakaway league’s season kickoff in Mexico next week. This decision entails a PGA Tour suspension, a mere few weeks following the Pole’s attainment of his Tour card for the season, following a remarkable 2023 on the DP World Tour.

While losing his playing privileges on the American-based circuit, Meronk is expected to continue participating in golf’s majors later this year, a challenge experienced by several other players who have defied convention.Presently, the European standout holds exemptions for the Masters and the Open Championship, and his Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) is expected to secure him an invitation to the U.S Open. In addition to these premier events, Meronk is slated to participate in all 14 of LIV’s tournaments in 2024. Aligning with Cleeks GC, he will form part of an all-European lineup alongside captain Martin Kaymer, Richard Bland, and the recently elevated Kalle Samooja.

Throughout the season, Meronk is set to compete on European turf only twice, as LIV organizes events in the United Kingdom and Spain in July. In other locations, he will revisit Australia, a familiar territory where he clinched the Australian Open title in 2022.
