Adrian Meronk sparked speculation he was going to join the lucrative LIV Golf League by withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open.

Golf fans were quick to speculate Poland’s Adrian Meronk was going to join LIV after he withdrew from this week’s PGA Tour event.
Meronk was listed in the field for the Farmers Insurance Open but withdrew before the first round.
The official PGA Tour communications department confirmed he wasn’t going to play with a post on X on 24 January.
No reason has been given for his withdrawal.
Meronk isn’t the only player to have pulled out of this tournament.
Amateur Nick Dunlap, fresh off his history-making victory at The American Express, has decided to spend this week with his friends and family.
He has a big decision to make as to whether to turn professional.
Multiple PGA Tour winner Justin Thomas has also withdrawn.
As for Meronk, the European was one of 10 players who earned their full PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season via the Race to Dubai rankings on the DP World Tour.
Ryan Fox, Victor Perez, Thorbjorn Olesen, Alexander Bjork, Sami Valimaki, Robert MacIntyre, Matthieu Pavon, Jorge Campillo and Ryo Hisatsune were the other nine golfers who earned their playing rights with the North American circuit.
It would be incredibly surprising if Meronk was to join LIV, given he previously expressed his desire to play on the circuit.

Last November, he explained: “Earning my PGA Tour card has been a goal to mine since we found out we are playing for PGA Tour cards.
“I’m very glad that I’m going to be playing on the PGA Tour.
“I played some tournaments this year, and gained some experience. I’m looking forward to it.”
