Justin Rose makes huge announcement as he confirms new team move
Justin Rose has become the newest member of Los Angeles Golf Club on TGL, it has been confirmed on social media.
The TGL was supposed to start up this month but the tech-infused league set up by PGA Tour legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has been forced into a 2025 start.
This was a result of the stadium roof recently collapsing at the SoFi Center in Florida.
But despite the TGL’s huge setback, the teams are starting to all come together.
Six teams from six different cities will go head-to-head in a season-long competition at SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue built specifically for golf on the campus of Palm Beach State College.
One of the teams getting its business done this month is Los Angeles GC, which has signed former US Open champion Justin Rose to its roster that already included two-time major champion Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala.
“Welcome to LAGC Justin Rose – with you joining the roster we’ll be unstoppable.”
“I am excited to become a part of Los Angeles Golf Club. From the very beginning, I was drawn to the Club’s commitment to their fans and their impact focus in the Los Angeles community. We are mission and vision aligned and I’m thrilled to be joining LAGC.”
Rose’s biggest career title to date at the 2013 US Open. The European Ryder Cup hero also won the 2018 FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour, as well as a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.
The TGL season was set to kick off on 9 January 2024. But all that has changed as a result of the TGL’s stadium roof collapsing on 14 November 2023.
It is understood the TGL will definitely start in early 2025.
When the inaugural 2025 season eventually tees off it will consist of 15 regular season games followed by a semi-final and a final.
As things stand, 23 players have officially signed up to take part in the TGL.
