Tiger Woods PGA Tour exempt status: Details Explored

Tiger Woods, after limited participation in the last two PGA Tour seasons, is gearing up for increased activity in 2024.

Following his return at the Hero World Challenge, he shared plans to play at least one event per month, including all four majors, marking a positive turnaround from his recent challenges.Regarding concerns about losing his PGA Tour card, Woods is secure in his exempt status.

Thanks to his 2019 Masters win, he holds the third spot in the priority rankings and remains exempt until the conclusion of the 2024 season.Even if Woods doesn’t secure additional victories, there’s no need for anxiety; his 2019 Masters win grants him a lifetime exemption after accumulating more than 20 wins.

Notably, earning a lifetime membership requires 20 wins and places him 18th on the priority ranking list. The previous requirement of 15 years of Tour experience was eliminated ahead of the 2022–23 season. Presently, only five active players have surpassed 20 wins on the PGA Tour. Notably, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson are currently ineligible due to their involvement with the LIV Golf Circuit.
