No.1 in the International Series rankings, Andy Ogletree, has joined Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC for the 2024 LIV Golf League season, becoming part of an all-American roster alongside Mickelson, Cameron Tringale, and Brendan Steele.
Ogletree disclosed that he received multiple offers from LIV Golf teams, comparing the process to college recruiting. Despite the interest from various teams, he couldn’t resist the opportunity to join forces with six-time major winner Phil Mickelson.
Ogletree expressed admiration for Mickelson’s approach and considered it a chance to acquire knowledge from one of the greatest golfers of all time. His decision was influenced by his exposure to LIV Golf dynamics, having traveled with the organization throughout the year as a reserve player.
It’s noteworthy that Ogletree’s addition to HyFlyers GC fills the roster vacancy left by James Piot’s relegation.
The 2019 U.S. Amateur champion replaces the 2021 U.S. Amateur winner, James Piot, and there’s anticipation about how Ogletree will integrate into the team during his second stint in LIV Golf.
