Jon Rahm’s transition to LIV Golf has surprised the golf community, marking him as the latest notable golfer to shift from the PGA Tour to the Saudi Arabian-backed league in a deal reportedly valued at £450 million.
Moreover, Rahm is slated to secure a guaranteed fee of £240 million for committing to LIV for five years. This amount is twice the sum received by former World No. 1 Dustin Johnson and three times that of Brooks Koepka when they made the move to LIV from the PGA Tour in 2021.
Additionally, Rahm is poised to acquire a stake in his team, potentially valued at an additional £200 million. To put it in perspective, the earnings Rahm stands to make with LIV are roughly double the amount accumulated by 15-time major winner Tiger Woods through competition victories.
Woods holds the title of the highest-earning golfer in history, amassing approximately £96 million from 82 PGA Tour victories. Remarkably, with this single deal, Rahm is set to surpass the earnings of arguably the greatest golfer in history.
