Recently, there has been speculation about Lewis Hamilton potentially joining Red Bull, triggered by Christian Horner’s assertion.
Nevertheless, Dr. Helmut Marko has identified two primary reasons casting doubt on the possibility of a Hamilton-Verstappen partnership. Christian Horner stirred up the paddock by suggesting that Hamilton had expressed interest in joining Red Bull.
Hamilton strongly refuted this claim, asserting that it was actually Horner who wanted to initiate contact.Amidst the blame games, Marko shared his perspective on the feasibility of a Verstappen-Hamilton alliance. He dismissed the idea, citing the intense on-track action and tension during the 2021 season when Verstappen clinched the title at Hamilton’s expense.
Marko emphasized another obstacle – the financial impracticality of having two highly expensive drivers on Red Bull’s payroll. Given the constraints, Marko communicated a clear stance to Horner against bringing Hamilton on board.
Hamilton’s unwavering loyalty to Mercedes emerges as another hindrance to a potential Red Bull move. The seven-time World Champion expressed a preference for sticking with Mercedes, aiming to contribute to the team’s efforts in building a championship-winning car.Despite Hamilton’s recent race win drought, extending over two seasons, his commitment to Mercedes remains resolute.
His focus lies on aiding the team’s development and progress, rather than pursuing victories by switching to the fastest car, reflecting his dedication to the Silver Arrows.
