Retired tennis champion Serena Williams recently shared her excitement about Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s return as Maui in the live-action remake of Disney’s ‘Moana.’ Williams, now 42, retired from professional tennis in 2022 but has remained active on social media platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube, where she often documents her family life.

On December 3, Williams came across a video of Johnson announcing the live-action ‘Moana’ on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’ and reposted it on her Instagram stories. In her caption, she expressed her enthusiasm for the project and playfully mentioned breaking out into song along with the video.

During his November 13 appearance on ‘The Tonight Show,’ Johnson revealed that he would be collaborating with renowned songwriter and filmmaker Lin-Manuel Miranda on the live-action remake. The former WWE star hinted at the movie being a musical, sharing Maui’s perspective through a song. Johnson, 51, also disclosed that Tommy Kail would be directing the project, while Miranda would be returning to compose the music for the film.

With 23 Major titles under her belt, Serena Williams not only appreciates athletic achievements but also stays engaged in the latest developments in popular culture, showcasing her diverse interests beyond the tennis court.
